General User Warnings for Power Chair Users
Most of the following are common sense - but here is a reminder!
- Do not lean over to pick up objects, causing you to shift your weight in the sea - this can cause tipping.
- Do NOT use an escalator
- Only Class 3 vehicles should be used on the road, unless no pavement is available
- NO DRIVING ON ICY INCLINES!
- AVOID kerbs, unless the model you have has a kerb climber and the manufacturer's specification gives a kerb usable height.
- DO NOT make sharp turns at high speeds.
- NO PASSENGERS - you will not be insured.
- DO NOT fit parts, accessories or adapt the vehicle from the manufacturer's CE approved specification.
- REMOVE ignition key when leaving the vehicle, thus turning the power off and immobilising the chair. DO NOT leave the key in the ignition - a child or inexperienced person may atempt to steal or use the product and this may result in damage.
- DO NOT CONNECT any medical device, such as a ventilator, to the machine's electrical system.
- Always operate the wheelchair from a seated postiion unles there is dual or attendant control fitted.
